Aekō

FEATURED AT AIGA SLC 100 SHOW

a visual reflection of Aesthetic illusion
A conceptual brand that visually echoes the illusions one struggles with during the art or design process.

The prompt was to design four cohesive packages for a self-created brand. The result was Aekō, a conceptual brand focused on selling art supplies. The project explored the challenge of balancing originality with inspiration. Early creative efforts are often hindered by the pressure to produce completely original ideas.

Over time, one’s perspective shifts to acknowledge the value of drawing inspiration from the work of others. This evolution allows for a more open and constructive creative process.

Aekō is pronounced like echo.

Just as an echo is a repeated sound from a different source, a visual reflection can be seen as a shifted image or idea viewed from another perspective.

The process for creating the packaging allowed each one to have a one-of-a-kind watercolor design.

creativity builds on what came before. We honor the echoes of past artists and transform them into something new, meaningful, and resonant.

originality is a conversation

Alongside the project I created this animation in blender, mainly to practice using blender, but also as a concept for how you could promote the brand.
